For many, exercise is not a great option, me included!
But let me explain why I think why even a small amount of exercise can really help to solve anxiety.
I had a traumatic family experience and as with many people in a similar situation, this destroyed me and led to untold anxiety and mental distress.
But enough of this sadness. How did I manage to turn this traumatic situation into something more positive?
I saw a therapist.
One piece of advice that I got was to start getting some exercise to help with the anxiety and deal with this traumatic time of life.
Did this help? You bet! I was lucky enough to have a wife who reminded me to take action on this advice and do you what I did?…
I started off walking 1 mile a day.
After 3 weeks, this increased to 2 miles a day.
Predictably, I lost weight, felt better about myself and started to recover from my loss.
Exercise can make a huge difference to your level of anxiety.
So if you have any form of anxiety and you’re not ‘stretching’ your legs regularly, please consider trying a bit of walking.
Or cycling, swimming, or even a bit of at home yoga!
